The conditions for kitesurfing on Holbox are super easy, with steady winds and warm temperatures. The island is surrounded by shallow waters, making it great for beginner and improver kitesurfers. Playa Holbox, also known as Kite Beach, is the main spot for kitesurfing on the island. This beach is on the western side of the island and offers ample space for launching and landing kites. The shallow waters make it perfect for a learn-to-kitesurf holiday.

The best time for kitesurfing on Holbox is during the windy season, which typically runs from November to July. You can expect consistent winds during these months, especially from December to May.

Description :

Kitesurfing Lessons with a personal instructor gives you the opportunity to have a 1-on-1 interaction with your instructor to help you learn at a pace that is driven by you. The Learn To Kitesurf course aims to get you riding, while also teaching you how to read the conditions and utilise your equipment safely and correctly.

You will start with the basics; this includes setup of your equipment, safety features that you will utilise and how to fly a small 2metre trainer kite. When your instructor feels you are ready you can then head to the water. On day one you will only be using the kite and not go on the board just yet. Entering the water is when the fun starts! Here you will be taught how to properly fly an inflatable kitesurfing kite, how to control your kite and what to do if you crash it in the water. On day one you will be comfortable flying the kite and know what to do in any situation.

You will then move on to the board lessons. What does that mean? Well it is time to get up on the board now. You will practice using the kite to generate pull and you will learn how to get the kite to pull you without the board first. The idea is to get used to how the kite behaves when asked to pull you. Once confident doing this you will learn how to put the board on your feet and after that, how to get up on the board. Most people will manage to do a few metres on the board by the end of the course.
