Spain, Lanzarote (Costa Teguise)
Lanzarote is a small island near Africa. It's part of the Canary Islands and was made by volcanoes a long time ago. It's not very big, about 70km long and 20km wide, but it has about 300 volcanoes! People decided in 1992 that it's special and should be protected, so it's now part of a special area called the World Biosphere Reserve.
The weather in Lanzarote is nice and sunny all year. The island has unique light and colours. You can see a lot of different things here. Some parts look like they're from another planet because of the strange rocks and volcanic landscape. Other parts have beautiful beaches with either golden or black sand. The waves there are perfect for surfing.
Lanzarote is a windy place, especially compared to the other Canary Islands. This makes it great for sports like Wing Foiling and Windsurfing. If you're not into wind sports, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy the water. You can try stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, or just swimming.
When you're tired of the water, there are other things to do on Lanzarote. You can explore the island by car, go hiking, or ride a mountain bike. There's something for everyone!
